As a young child I was always drawn to all things mythical, mystical, magic and more. I always knew that I was different than the other kids I grew up with, and often bullied for my creative and unique way of looking at things. In school they would call me a freak and throw water at me and tell me to transform because I truly thought I was a mermaid, as it was not yet a popular trend that it is today, I was cast out and treated differently for believing I was more than just an adopted kid that somebody just gave away one day. I won’t say I had a hard life growing up because I know it can always be worse than it is, however I never let go of my love and belief in a world full of mystical and magical creatures and of course on the top of my list was a mermaid.

When I saw the Disney channel movie ‘The 13th year’ I knew that it just had to be what happened to me. That for me, it meant that just maybe I wasn’t given away but put somewhere to keep me safe and accidentally taken away to live on land, and one day my abilities would appear, and I would return to the watery world of my day dreams where there were no bullies, and everyone just swam around exploring shipwrecks and reefs like Ariel. My goal for this shop is to give others the same hope and feelings that my first tail gave me, that feeling of freedom and power that only being under the water can give you. This shop is not just for me to create beautiful pieces of art and make money, but to help mermaid dreams come true and be affordable for all and any who dream of becoming one of these beautiful and empowered creatures of the deep.

     When I was older I decided to get my DNA tested as I felt a strange pull to the Scottish and viking stories and the magic and mystery that were such huge parts in each culture, low and behold I found that I was not only of Viking decent but was connected directly to a Viking king that ruled over the Isle of Skye, and who's sons would create the clan McLeod. I was not only Scottish but I was also Viking royalty. Pretty cool for a little girl who grew up her whole life thinking that she was just something someone decided they didn't want anymore.
